It’s always an honor for me to be asked to photograph someone’s wedding. When that someone is a good friend, it feels a little extra special. Sara worked with my wife in DC and became a good friend (and our g0-to dog sitter!). We were sad when she moved to New York, but it turned out to be a great decision because that’s where she met Joe. When they asked me to photograph their wedding, I was thrilled!
It was exciting to shoot in a new city, especially one as unique as New York. We did their first look and portraits at Brooklyn Bridge Park, and their wedding ceremony and reception were at The Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn.
I don’t think I’ll ever forget the moment that Sara and her father walked out for the processional. It had been overcast all day long, but just seconds before they emerged from the building, the sun peeked under the clouds and showered them with warm afternoon light. They couldn’t have timed their ceremony any better! The views from The Liberty Warehouse, overlooking the New York Harbor and Statue of Liberty, were incredible. The sunset ceremony was one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen.
On a personal note, it was special to have my wife and son there as well, and to watch my son tear it up on the dance floor with his patented handstands!
Congrats Sara and Joe! I’m so glad I was there to witness your awesome wedding!
