While I love being a DC wedding photographer, and the wide variety of DC-area wedding venues, it’s safe to say that the DMV doesn’t offer anything quite like the beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic! I was thrilled when Amie and Allen asked me to be the photographer for their destination wedding. It was so nice spending a few days with them and their families soaking up some sun, and a few cold beverages. They couldn’t have been more welcoming.

While there were some threatening storms rolling through, Amie and Allen were able to have their ceremony on the beach. Shortly after the ceremony, we were treated to an amazing sunset that created a beautiful backdrop for portraits. The light was incredible. We don’t see skies like that in DC very often!

So while I’d never want to give up being a DC wedding photographer, I could get used to a few Caribbean weddings a year!
